UIB AWARDS IN GRANADA: HANS BOLTEN FROM GERMANY IS THE "WORLD BAKER OF THE YEAR 2013" AND THE PRESIDENT OF THE INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS OF NUTRITION ICN'2013 RECEIVES THE "UIB HONORARY AWARD"

The beautiful gardens of "Jardín de Gomérez" in Granada were the venue chosen by the UIB to celebrate their annual Gala Dinner. More than a hundred guests enjoyed an exquisite menu and an wonderful protocol when two UIB awards were presented. The first one went to Mr. Hans Bolten from Germany, who was apoointed "World Baker of the Year 2013". Previous awards of this title went to Andreu Llargués (Spain, 2012), Hans Nadler (USA, 2011), and Andrzej Szydlowski (Poland, 2010).

The other recognition of the global bakery community was the "UIB Honorary Award", which was presented to Prof. Dr. Angel Gil, President of the International Congress of Nutrition (ICN), professor at the University of Granada and Chairman of the Scientific Bread Committee in Spain. Gil is the second person to receive this UIB award after former EU Commissioner John Dalli (UIB Congress Munich, 2012). The delegates of UIB and UIPCG also enjoyed the speeches of Andrey Llargués, as head of the hosting Spanish Bakery Association CEOPAN and of course, the President of newly formed UIBC, Peter Becker. 

 

 

Hans Bolten is presented the Award "World Baker of the Year 2013" by UIB President Peter Becker.
